Treschhütte SAC

Treschhütte sits at 1475m in the Uri Alps, positioned as a solid base for day hikes and longer traverses across this central Swiss region. The hut lies on established hiking routes and is accessible from several valleys—approach times vary between 2 and 4 hours depending on your starting point. Most parties approach from the north or south via marked trails that gain elevation steadily but without technical difficulty.

The hut operates year-round and sleeps 32 in simple shared rooms. The SAC manages it to standard Alpine hut quality: expect basic comfort, reliable hot water, and a functioning kitchen. Meals are served daily—book these when you reserve beds. The self-catering kitchen works well if you prefer to cook, and there's drinking water on tap. WiFi is available, which suits people who need to stay connected between mountain days.

Book beds at least 4 to 6 weeks ahead for summer weekends and throughout July and August. Outside peak season, 2 weeks' notice usually suffices. Contact the hut directly by email or phone—both options are listed on the SAC website. Weekdays in June and September are much quieter than summer weekends. The hut suits small groups, families, and solo hikers equally well; it's not a destination hut with complex logistics, so don't overthink the booking process.
