Voralphütte SAC

Voralphütte sits at 2,126m in the Uri Alps, on the Voralp meadow between the Gotthard and Furka passes. Most hikers approach from Göschenen (2 hours) via the Göschenen Alp, or from Wassen (2.5 hours) via Wägital. The hut works well as a base for traversing the high passes or as a rest point on longer valley crossings. The terrain is straightforward hiking rather than scrambling.

The hut sleeps 40 across shared dormitories. Meals are prepared on-site—book dinner and breakfast when you reserve. A self-catering kitchen is available if you prefer to cook your own food. Water comes directly from the spring. The hut opens typically from June through September, though dates depend on snow conditions and staffing; confirm the season before planning your trip. Basic dormitory accommodation means expect shared facilities and an early lights-out policy typical of SAC huts.

Book directly with the hut by email or phone as soon as your dates are set. July and August fill quickly—aim to book 4-6 weeks ahead for summer weekends. May, June, and September offer quieter visits but verify opening dates first, as early and late season operations can be unpredictable. The hut may operate with reduced capacity during shoulder months.
