Cabin de Prafleuri

Cabane de Prafleuri sits at 2,662m in the Pennine Alps between Arolla and the Col de la Forclaz de Kolerin. The approach from Arolla takes 3.5 hours via the Lac de Panerotta and the Glacier de Prafleuri. The route is rocky and steep in places but straightforward in summer. Winter access is not reliable and the hut is typically closed November through May. Alternative approaches exist from the Forclaz de Kolerin direction, though most parties come from Arolla.
The hut is run by the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) and sleeps 45 people in shared dormitories. Meals are standard alpine fare—hearty dinners and breakfasts are provided to overnight guests. The hut has basic facilities: no showers, but water is available and toilets are outside. A small shop sells snacks and emergency supplies. This is a working hut on the main hiking routes across the Pennine Alps, not a destination in itself.
Book at least two months ahead for July and August weekends. The hut fills regularly during the summer season. Contact the SAC directly or book online through their website. The hut answers to the Valais section of the SAC. Arrive before 18:00. The warden expects payment in cash or Swiss card—confirm payment methods when booking.
