Cabin de Susanfe

Cabane de Susanfe sits at 2,110m in the Val d'Anniviers, a remote side valley in Valais. Reach it from Grimentz in 2 hours by hiking through larch forest and alpine meadow. The approach is steady rather than steep, making this a good warm-up hut for longer Valais traverses. The hut also sits on the route between Chandolin and Grimentz, so it works well as a mid-point on multi-day trips across the region.
The cabin has 71 beds in mixed and smaller rooms. Half-board (dinner and breakfast) is standard, though self-catering options exist with a functional kitchen available. Meals are hearty mountain food—expect simple dishes and generous portions. Water comes from the spring outside. The hut opens from June through September, with July and August being peak season. Winter access is possible but not guaranteed; confirm conditions before attempting off-season visits.
