Wiwannihütte

Wiwannihütte sits at 2,470m in the Valais Alps, accessible from the Turtmann valley. The approach takes 2.5 hours from Turtmann-Unterbach on a well-marked trail gaining 900m elevation. The hut serves as a base for routes into the Mischabel massif and works well as a stopover on longer valley traverses.

The hut has 44 beds across multiple rooms. Meals are served daily during the season, and hot drinks are available throughout the day. Water comes from the spring behind the hut. There's no electricity or heating beyond the communal spaces, so expect a traditional Alpine hut experience. The season runs from June through September, with weekends open into October depending on weather. Book your bed before arriving—the hut fills quickly in July and August.

July and August require booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance. June and September offer more flexibility, though weekends still fill. Bring cash for payment—the hut may not accept cards.
