Koralpenhaus

Koralpenhaus sits at 1,966m on the Koralpe plateau in southern Carinthia, between the Wolfsberg and Seethal valleys. Reach it from Wolfsberg in around 2.5 hours via the marked trail through mixed forest. The hut is also accessible from the Seethal side (approximately 3 hours) or from Deutschlandsberg to the south. The Koralpe's gentle, forested slopes make this a solid base for ridge walks and connections to other huts in the region, though not a high alpine location.
The OeAV-managed hut sleeps 23 people in simple dormitory rooms and a few doubles. The guardian serves hot meals and packed lunches. Water comes from a natural spring on the property. The hut has a small common room with a wood stove. Mobile signal is limited. The season runs from late May through September, though opening dates depend on snow melt. Winter use is possible by arrangement if accessed on skis.
Book direct with Sektion Wolfsberg well ahead for July and August weekends; summer Saturdays fill regularly. The hut accepts advance reservations by phone and email. Expect it to be quieter mid-week. There is no public transport to the trailhead, so you'll need a car to reach Wolfsberg or the Seethal approach.
