Lippnkasa Almhütte
2.4About
The hut operates as a simple mountain restaurant and basic lodging, typical of Pinzgau farming almhüttes. Capacity is small—around 30–40 beds in basic rooms. They serve traditional Austrian Alpine food: schnitzel, kasnocken, supp. Water comes from the spring. There's no shower and electricity is limited. The season runs May through October, dependent on snow melt. This is a working Alpine dairy farm first, hut second. Expect authentic rather than comfortable.
Book direct by phone. Summer weekends and July fill up fast; contact them 6–8 weeks ahead if you need beds in peak season. They're informal and may turn away walk-ins on busy days. The hut is not listed with OeAV or DAV, so rely on direct contact. Expect cash payment only. Staff speak German and basic English. Ask about current water supply and road conditions before heading up, especially in shoulder seasons.
