Neuburgalm
3.7About
Neuburgalm is a working alpine dairy farm that also takes hikers. The operation runs seasonally, typically from June through September, depending on weather and grazing schedules. Bed capacity is modest—around 20 places in shared rooms. The hut serves meals based on availability, often featuring local specialties and dairy products from the farm itself. Basic facilities include hot water and pit toilets. This is mountain hospitality in its most straightforward form: functional shelter, honest food, no frills.
Book directly through the hut by phone or email well in advance, especially for July and August weekends. The hut fills quickly during peak season because capacity is small and competition from larger commercial huts is minimal here. Outside main summer months, contact ahead to confirm the hut is staffed. Expect to pay cash on arrival.
