Puglalm
2.5About
The hut is run by the OeAV (Austrian Alpine Club) and offers basic mountain hospitality. Expect around 50 beds split between dorm rooms and a few private spaces. The kitchen serves hearty dinners and packed lunches to order. Fresh water comes from a spring. Facilities include a common room with a stove, though showers are limited or cold. The hut sits on the fringe of protected alpine meadows and is surrounded by good day-walking terrain: peaks like Sölkkarspitze (2,391m) and Preber (2,244m) are reachable in 2–3 hours. The season runs from late spring through autumn, typically May to October, depending on snow.
Book directly with the hut by telephone or email at least 2–3 weeks ahead, especially for weekends and July–August. Solo walkers and small groups usually find space without advance notice. The hut closes during winter months and the shoulder seasons can bring sudden closures due to snow.
