Schürhütte
2.5About
The Schürhütte is managed by the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV, Sektion Graz) and offers 30-40 places in mixed dormitory accommodation. The hut serves evening meals and provides breakfast; bring your own snacks or rely on limited supplies available on-site. Water comes from mountain springs. The hut operates year-round but is most reliably staffed from May through October. Winter access is possible but requires mountain skills and advance notice.
Book directly with the hut from April onwards for summer weekends, particularly July and August. Contact the Graz section of OeAV or call ahead—the hut can fill 4-6 weeks in advance during peak season. July weekends warrant booking 8 weeks out. Single hut nights are generally available mid-week. Half-board is standard; bring cash as payment options are limited.
