Breslauer Hut

The Breslauer Hütte sits at 2844m in the Zillertal Alps, directly on the main ridge between the Zamsertal and Zemmtal valleys. Reach it in 3.5 hours from Ginzling via the Zamsertal or in 4 hours from Mayrhofen via the Zemmtal. Both routes are well-marked and steadily uphill with no technical difficulty. The hut makes an ideal base for ascents of Hochfeiler (3510m) and Zemmspitze (3376m), and for ridge traverses across the surrounding peaks.
The hut holds 80 beds across mixed dormitories and private rooms. Meals are substantial—expect hearty Austrian fare with vegetarian options available. The kitchen provides packed lunches if you order by 20:00 the previous evening. Water comes from the mountain spring; showers are available. The hut opens mid-June through late September, with weekend service only in shoulder months. Electricity runs on generators, so power is limited outside meal times.

July and August are fully booked 2–3 months ahead; early June and September offer better availability. Arrive by 17:00 to secure dinner. The hut is staffed daily during full season but may close briefly in bad weather—call ahead if conditions look uncertain.
