Gletscherblickalm
2.5About
The hut is managed by the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV) and offers 60 beds across multiple rooms. Expect solid mountain fare: hearty soups, schnitzel, fresh bread, and strong coffee. The hut has a small shop selling energy bars, maps, and emergency supplies. Showers are cold water only. An evening meal and breakfast cost extra; book both when you reserve. The hut opens year-round but staffing is lighter November to April, so confirm availability before arriving. Dormitory beds fill quickly in July and August.
Book 8 to 10 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. Contact the hut directly by telephone: +43 (0)680 3266 4101, or email via the OeAV website. Arrive by 16:00 to secure dinner that evening. Solo hikers can usually find space with shorter notice, especially midweek. The hut sits on the Zillertal valley floor with views to the Zillertal Alps above.
