Gogles Alm

Gogles Alm sits at 2017m in the Zillertal, a major north-south valley in central Tyrol. The hut is accessible via multiple routes. From Mayrhofen (the valley hub) head south toward Finkenberg, then branch east into the Zillergrund. The walk to Gogles Alm takes 2.5–3 hours from the valley floor. Most hikers approach from Hochfinstertörl or from the Zamserbach trail depending on your route. The alm makes a solid day-hike destination or overnight stop on longer mountain traverses.
This is a working alpine pasture with modest hut facilities. Gogles Alm serves meals during the hiking season and offers bunk beds for overnight stays. The capacity is small—expect 20–30 places depending on configuration. Facilities are basic but functional: dormitory accommodation, toilets, and water from the spring. The hut opens seasonally from June through September, depending on snow melt and weather. Staff manage both hiking guests and grazing cattle. Meals focus on simple mountain food cooked on-site.
Book directly by phone well ahead for July and August weekends. The hut is popular with local hikers and walkers tackling multi-day routes through the Zillertal. Mid-week visits in June and September are quieter. Have your accommodation sorted before arrival—this is not a drop-in hut with guaranteed beds.
