Nördlinger Hut

Nördlinger Hütte sits at 2,238m on the northern edge of the Appenzell Alps in Tyrol. Most hikers approach from Oberstdorf, Germany, starting at the Einödsbach parking area. The ascent to the hut takes 3 to 3.5 hours and follows a well-marked trail through forest and alpine meadows. The hut serves as a base for day hikes across the Appenzell range and connects to multi-day traverses toward the Säntis and Appenzell Alpen trails.
The hut is run by DAV Sektion Nördlingen and accommodates 60 people in shared dormitory rooms. The kitchen serves hearty Swabian and Tyrolean food. Hot meals are available at lunch and dinner for both overnight guests and day visitors. The hut has no shower but provides washbasins with hot water. It operates year-round, though services may be reduced from November to March. Packed lunches can be ordered the evening before.

Day visitors should arrive by 11:00 to guarantee a meal. The hut is unmanned one day each week; confirm opening before traveling in shoulder seasons.
