Stuibenhütte

Stuibenhütte sits at 920m in the Ötztal, a major valley cutting south from Längenfeld in Tyrol. The hut occupies a working farm setting on the valley floor, making it accessible year-round via the road to Sölden—a 2-hour drive from Innsbruck. Most hikers reach it on foot from Längenfeld in 45 minutes, following the valley path that parallels the Ötz River. The hut serves as a base for day walks into the surrounding meadows and forests rather than as a staging point for high-altitude routes.
The hut operates as a traditional Gasthof (inn) with restaurant service for non-residents. It offers around 30 beds in simple rooms, mostly doubles and family-sized spaces. Food focuses on regional Tyrolean cuisine—schnitzel, speck, käsespätzle—cooked from local ingredients. The dining room is spacious and frequently busy with valley hikers and family groups. There's no mountain hut austerity here: you get proper beds, hot showers, and hearty meals. The hut opens year-round, though call ahead in winter to confirm availability.
Book directly by phone or through their website. July and August weekends fill quickly; book 2–3 weeks ahead for those dates. Winter visits rarely require advance booking. The hut is family-friendly and accessible for walkers of any standard, making it better suited for valley touring than technical Alpine hiking.
