Cabin de la Tsissette

Cabane de la Tsissette sits at 2,005m in the Chaîne de la Chartreuse, northeast of Grenoble. The hut is accessible year-round on foot from the Charmant Som trailhead (parking near Col de Porte). The main approach takes 2.5 to 3 hours depending on route choice and fitness. Winter access requires snowshoes or skis. The cabin lies on the GR9 long-distance trail, making it a natural overnight stop for walkers crossing the Chartreuse massif.
This is a small, unmanned refuge offering basic shelter and sleeping space for approximately 6–8 people. There is no guardian, no food service, and no running water. Visitors must bring their own supplies and cooking equipment. A wood stove provides heating. The cabin operates year-round as a self-service refuge. You'll find a logbook inside where past visitors leave notes about conditions. Toilets are outside. Winter and spring snow can block access for several weeks; check conditions locally before setting out.
Register your stay with the local Parc Naturel de Chartreuse office or stop by before departure. No advance booking is required—the cabin is first-come, first-served. Bring a stove, fuel, food, and a sleeping bag even in summer. Mobile signal is poor or absent.
