Imbergalpe

Imbergalpe sits at 1,069m in the Allgäu Alps between Oberstaufen and Bad Hindelang. Reach it on foot from Oberstaufen (allow 2 hours) via the Rohrmoos valley, or from Bad Hindelang in roughly 2.5 hours. The hut works as a base for ridge walks across the Nagelfluh limestone chain and serves traffic heading between the two towns. The approach is well-marked and gains elevation steadily but doesn't demand technical skill.
The alp offers simple accommodation and serves traditional Bavarian meals. The kitchen prepares hearty fare suited to mountain appetites. Beds typically number around 30 across mixed dorm rooms. Shower facilities exist but are basic. The hut operates year-round, though winter conditions close some walking routes. Staff speak German primarily; basic English is generally available. The setting is working pasture rather than high alpine terrain, so expect cows and pastoral surroundings rather than rock and ice.
