Aiblinger Hut

Aiblinger Hütte sits at 1,311m in the foothills south of Bad Aibling, on the edge of the Mangfall range. Reach it from Bad Aibling town center in 1.5 hours on foot, following marked trails through mixed forest. The hut is also accessible from Fischbachau (2 hours) or as a waypoint on longer routes into the Mangfallgebirge. This is a working hut, not a remote alpine refuge—proximity to town makes it ideal for shorter trips or winter walking when higher routes are snow-bound.
The hut is DAV-managed and operates year-round, hosting up to 80 guests in simple dormitory accommodation. Meals feature Bavarian staples and change daily; vegetarian options are standard. The kitchen serves hot food at lunch and dinner, and packed lunches can be ordered. Showers are available. The hut bar stocks local beers and soft drinks. This is a busy local meeting point on weekends, especially for families and day-walkers from the Bad Aibling area.
Book directly with the hut by phone or email. Summer weekends and school holidays fill quickly; aim to reserve 2–3 weeks ahead for July and August. Winter weekends (December–February) also draw crowds. The hut enforces a two-night minimum stay on Saturdays. DAV members receive slightly reduced rates. Arrive by early afternoon if you're hiking in the same day, as kitchen operations end by 21:00.
