Toni-Lenz-Hut

Toni-Lenz-Hütte sits at 1,450m in the Berchtesgaden Alps, on the eastern edge of the German Alpine region. Reach it from the village of Schönau an der Königssee via the Königssee valley trail. The approach takes 2.5 to 3 hours on a well-maintained hiking path with steady elevation gain. This location makes it a natural base for routes toward the Hochkalter massif and day walks around the Königssee basin.
The hut operates year-round and sleeps around 40 guests in mixed dormitory rooms. Meals are standard Alpine fare: hearty dinners and breakfast included with your stay. The hut has no shower facilities, so plan accordingly. A small bar and sitting area provide refuge in poor weather. Water and toilets are reliable. The DAV manages this hut, so expect straightforward, no-frills comfort typical of Club properties.
Book by phone directly with the hut. July and August require booking 3 to 4 months in advance. Shoulder seasons (May-June, September-October) are less crowded but still popular for weekend trips. Winter weekends fill quickly among locals. Midweek stays outside summer are usually available on shorter notice.
