Rifugio Sandro Pertini

Rifugio Sandro Pertini sits at 2,300m in the Ligurian Alps, serving hikers on the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri and other ridge traverses. The hut is reached on foot from the Colle di Nava (6km, 2 hours) or from Ponte di Nava to the south (8km, 3 hours). Most approach routes climb steadily through beech forest before breaking into open ridge walking. The hut marks a logical stopping point on multi-day traverses, with good onward access to the central Ligurian crest.
The hut holds 14 beds across several small rooms. Half-board meals are available—the kitchen prepares pasta dishes and local specialties. Water comes from a spring; showers are not available. The building has basic heating. Opening dates vary by season; the hut operates most reliably from June through September, with some shoulder-season weekend access in May and October. Phone ahead to confirm availability outside summer months.
Email the hut directly to reserve beds. Book at least 4 weeks ahead for July and August weekends, when the small capacity fills quickly. Weekday visits are less crowded. The hut cannot accommodate large groups; parties of more than 8 should contact well in advance. Bring cash for payment; mobile reception is unreliable at the site.
