Tierser Alpl Hütte - Rifugio Alpe di Tires

Tierser Alpl Hütte sits at 2,440m in the Dolomites above the Val di Tires, accessible from multiple directions. From Tiers village, the most direct route takes 2.5 hours via the Stierjoch Pass. From Passo Gantkofel, the approach is gentler at around 1.5 hours. The hut makes a natural base for traversing the surrounding ridges and peaks, with trails to Lausitzer Hütte and into the Val di Tires proper.
The hut operates year-round and sleeps around 30 guests in simple dormitory rooms. Meals are hearty and straightforward—expect pasta, risotto, and local meats. A small bar serves coffee and drinks. The hut is staffed daily, though conditions in winter limit accessibility. Showers are available, but facilities are basic and water use is rationed during dry periods.
Book 3–4 months ahead for July and August weekends. The hut fills quickly during holiday weeks. The keeper is responsive to calls made between 14:00–18:00 local time.
