About

Rifugio Cima Undici sits at 2,640m in the Dolomites, on the high traverse between Tre Croci and Ra Gusela. You reach it in 2.5 hours from Passo Tre Croci (2,407m) via a well-marked path that climbs steadily northeast through larch forest and alpine meadow. The final approach crosses mixed terrain with occasional scrambling. In bad weather the route becomes exposed; turn back if visibility drops below 100m.

The hut sleeps 30 people across shared rooms with 4–8 bunks each. Meals focus on hearty mountain food: pasta, polenta, and local cheeses. Breakfast costs €10, half-board €50–65 per person. The kitchen provides hot water for instant meals if you bring your own food. Toilets are outside. Water comes from a natural spring 200m downhill. The hut opens mid-June through late September, weather permitting. Mobile signal is patchy.

Book 4–6 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. Email the hut directly or call; there's no online booking system. Arrive by 18:00 to guarantee a hot meal. Cash only—no card payments. The guardian closes the hut door at 21:00 and locks it at 22:30. Winter access is impossible due to avalanche exposure.
