Rifugio Luigi Gorza

Rifugio Luigi Gorza sits at 2,478m in the Brenta Dolomites, accessible from the Molveno lake area. The standard approach takes 3–4 hours from Pradel trailhead via the Sentiero delle Trincee (WWI trench trail), a steady climb through beech forest that opens onto alpine meadows. Most hikers use this route as part of multi-day traverses crossing the Brenta massif. Direct access from the south via Serrai di Sordezzo canyon is steeper and more technical, taking 2.5–3 hours but offers views into dramatic limestone gorges.
The refuge operates year-round and accommodates 60 guests in mixed and private rooms. Half-board is standard (dinner and breakfast included); packed lunches available on request. The kitchen serves traditional Trentino food—casunziei, speck, and fresh pasta—with vegetarian options. Hot showers are available. The hut sits on the main north–south hiking corridor, making it a natural overnight stop for anyone traversing the Brenta or linking to Rifugio Paterno or Rifugio Tuckett.
Book 3 months ahead for July and August weekends. Reserve directly by phone (+39 0465 947952) or through the hut website. Expect the hut to be quieter midweek and in June or September. Check opening dates before visiting shoulder seasons, as staffing can vary. The hut accepts cash and cards.
