Rifugio Vièl dal Pan - Bindelweghütte

Rifugio Vièl dal Pan sits at 2,432m on the border between the Veneto and South Tyrol regions, accessible from multiple valleys in the Dolomites. Most hikers approach from the south via the Fedare valley, a 2.5-hour climb from Colle Santa Lucia (2,394m). From the north, the route from Arabba takes roughly 3 hours. The hut serves as a junction point for north-south traverse routes and connects to the Alta Via 1.
The refuge holds 23 beds across a mix of dorms and private rooms. Meals follow the standard Alpine hut format: hearty dinners and packed lunches available. Showers are available, a genuine luxury at this elevation. The hut operates year-round, though winter access requires mountaineering skills and avalanche awareness. Cooking facilities exist for self-catering guests, though full board is the typical arrangement.
