Dom na Komni sits at 1,520m on Komna, a limestone plateau in the Julian Alps northwest of Kranjska Gora. Reach it in 2.5 hours on foot from Kranjska Gora village, or 1.5 hours from the Planika car park. The trail climbs steadily through forest and pasture, gaining 600m elevation. Winter access depends on snow conditions; call ahead if visiting November to April.

The hut holds 108 beds across multiple rooms and serves as a base for exploring the Komna plateau and surrounding peaks. Hot showers are available. Meals are provided; book these in advance, especially for groups. The hut stays open year-round but staffing varies seasonally. The PZS-affiliated managers are PD Ljubljana-Matica. This is a working hut frequented by local hiking clubs, not a tourist hostel.
