Hut pod Bogatinom

Koča pod Bogatinom sits at 1,513m in the Julian Alps above the Bohinj valley, on the standard route to Bogatín (1,826m). The hut is 2.5 hours' hiking from Srednja vas, or 3 hours from the Bohinj Lake shore. Approach via the marked trail from Srednja vas village in the Bohinj basin—this is the main walker's route. The location makes it a logical stop for anyone crossing the high country between Bohinj and the Triglav massif or heading toward Komenda pass.
The hut manages 54 beds in shared rooms. Hot meals are available, and you can arrange packed lunches the evening before. Water is reliable from the spring. The hut runs year-round but is most reliably staffed May through October; contact ahead if planning a winter visit. There's no WiFi, so bring offline maps and be prepared to disconnect. The building has basic mountain hut standards—solid walls, heating, good cooking facilities, but don't expect mod cons. PZS membership discounts apply to overnight rates.
Book directly by phone with the hut manager, especially for groups or if arriving outside peak season. July and August require advance booking, ideally 2–3 weeks ahead. Weekends from June through September fill regularly. The hut is quieter May, June, September, and October—good alternatives if your schedule allows. Arrive by 17:00 if you haven't pre-booked.
