Hut pri Triglavskih Jezerih

Koča pri Triglavskih Jezerih sits at 1685m in the heart of the Julian Alps, surrounded by the Triglav Lakes. The hut is the base for reaching Triglav (2864m), Slovenia's highest peak. From Bohinj, walk 2 hours to reach the hut via the Bohinjska Bistrica route. The lakes and ridge trails around the hut offer hiking options for acclimatisation or rest days. The landscape here is high alpine—glacial tarns, scree, and rocky terrain dominate. Summer snow can linger into June on higher routes.
The hut sleeps 218 across multiple dormitories. Meals and drinks are available, with a small shop stocking essentials. The water source is reliable. The PZS manages the hut and runs it seasonally from mid-June to mid-September, with longer opening in good weather. Expect basic alpine hut conditions: no showers, cold water only, shared toilets. The hut fills quickly in July and August—most climbers heading for Triglav stay here the night before their summit attempt.
