Hut Edmunda Čibeja

Hut Edmunda Čibeja stands at 950m in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, serving as a base for hiking routes through forested slopes and alpine meadows. Reach it from the village of Kamnik by following marked trails—roughly 2.5 hours on foot through beech and spruce forest. The hut sits well-positioned for day walks into the surrounding peaks and for routes that connect to higher ridges in the Kamnik range.
The hut accommodates around 30–40 people in basic shared rooms. It serves hot meals and drinks to hikers and overnight guests. Facilities are straightforward: dormitory beds, running water, and simple but adequate cooking and eating areas. The hut typically operates year-round, though staffing can be limited outside summer and weekend periods—check conditions before visiting in winter. Winter access may require snowshoes depending on snow cover.
