About
Koča na Doliču sits at 2,151m in the Julian Alps, on the high plateau between Triglav and the Pokljuka region. Reach it from the Pokljuka side in 2.5 hours from Jezero parking, or from Goreljek in 3 hours. The hut is also a waypoint on longer ridge traverses connecting the northern Julian Alps. Snow can block the route between November and May; check conditions with PD Gorje before winter visits.
The hut manages 80 beds across multiple rooms. Half-board (dinner and breakfast) is standard; the kitchen serves hearty mountain food. No running water at the hut—meltwater or snow is collected seasonally. There's no WiFi. The building has basic heating and a common room. PZS operates it from June through September as a full staffed hut; shoulder seasons (May and October) depend on snow cover and staffing. Winter access is possible but requires experience and prior arrangement.
Book by email through PD Gorje at least 2 weeks ahead, longer for July and August weekends. Groups of 10+ should contact them 4–6 weeks early. Confirm opening dates before traveling in late spring or autumn. The hut is popular with ridge walkers and those combining it with Triglav ascents, so weekends fill fast during summer.
