About

Dom na Dobrovljah sits at 745m in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, on the lower slopes above the Dobrovljah valley. The hut serves as a base for day hikes in the surrounding beech and spruce forests, and as a waypoint on longer routes through the range. Reach it from the village of Dobrovljah in about 1.5 hours on foot via marked trails. Road access by car gets you to Dobrovljah village; the final approach is on foot only.

The lodge offers 40 beds across several rooms and provides hot meals, including traditional Slovenian dishes. A small shop stocks basic supplies. The hut has a kitchen, dining area, and basic dormitory accommodation. It operates year-round, though winter visits require advance notice. Water and heating are reliable. The hut is run by PZS volunteers and maintains the trails in the immediate area.

Book directly by phone or email with the hut keeper. July and August see steady traffic but the hut rarely fills completely due to its lower elevation and position off main Alpine passes. Spring and autumn are quieter. A deposit may be required for group bookings. Arrive early in the day if walking in on the same day, particularly during weekends when local hikers use the hut as a lunch stop.
