Hut na Kopitniku

Koča na Kopitniku sits at 865m on the slopes of Kopitnik in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The hut is accessible by car via a forestry road from the Tunjice valley, or by foot in 1.5 hours from the Javorniški Rovt trailhead. Most visitors arrive by hiking from nearby trails in the Kamniške Alps, making it a natural base for day walks and longer mountain routes. The setting works well for families and less experienced hikers who want shelter without serious altitude gain.
The hut offers 50 beds across multiple rooms and can accommodate groups. A PZS-affiliated facility, it serves hot meals, drinks, and basic snacks. The kitchen prepares hearty fare typical of Slovenian mountain huts. Winter visits are possible but confirm opening dates with the management—weather and staffing vary by season.
