Fridolinshütte

Fridolinshütte sits at 2111m on the Fridolin Pass between the Glarus Alps and the Säntis region. The hut is reached via hiking from the Säntis valley—allow 3 to 4 hours from the valley floor. The surrounding terrain offers access to numerous ridge walks and alpine traverses across the Glarus massif. The hut works well as a base for multi-day tours in this quieter corner of northeastern Switzerland.
The SAC-managed hut has 50 beds split across multiple rooms. A self-catering kitchen allows you to cook your own meals, though the hut also serves simple dishes during open periods. Drinking water is available. The hut typically opens in summer and autumn; contact them directly to confirm winter accessibility. Standard SAC facilities include dormitory-style sleeping and basic but adequate alpine accommodation.
Book directly by phone or email, especially if you want meals prepared. July and August see the highest demand—reserve at least 6 weeks ahead for peak season weekends. Outside summer, booking requirements are less stringent but still recommended, particularly during autumn when the ridge routes are clearest.
