Cabin Campo Tencia

Capanna Campo Tencia sits at 2,140m on the Campo Tencia massif in southern Ticino, on the border between the Italian and German-speaking cantons. Reach it from Lavorgo via the Nara valley in roughly 3.5 hours. The approach climbs steadily through forest before opening onto alpine meadow. Alternatively, access from Cadro on the Malcantone side takes 4 hours. The hut serves as a hub for ridge walks and scrambles across the Campo Tencia group, with routes to surrounding peaks ranging from 2,500m to 2,700m.
The hut has 60 beds split across multiple rooms. Meals are prepared fresh daily—book your evening meal when you book your bed. A self-catering kitchen is available if you prefer to cook. Water comes from the spring. The hut opens year-round but staffing varies seasonally, so check opening dates before you go. Winter access depends on snow conditions and your winter skills.
