Cabin Piano delle Creste

Capanna Piano delle Creste sits at 2,108m on the Piano delle Creste plateau in southern Ticino, on the border between Switzerland and Italy. The hut is accessible from the Val Bavona side via a 3-hour hike from Robiei, or from Italy via the Nera valley. Most parties approach from the north through the Val Bavona, which gives access to the broader Ticino Alpine network. The location puts you on established routes between Ticino's high valleys and the Gotthard region.
The hut has 36 beds across multiple rooms and serves cooked meals to guests. Drinking water is available. There is no self-catering kitchen, so plan to eat what the hut provides. The operation is seasonal and typically open during the summer hiking months. The simple facilities and remote setting attract hikers doing multi-day traverses rather than day-trippers.
