Cabin Scaletta

Capanna Scaletta sits at 2,205m on the southern slope of the Lepontine Alps in Ticino. The hut is reached from the Nufenen Pass (2,478m) via a 2-hour descent to the south, or from the Val Bedretto via a 4-hour ascent. Most hikers approach from the pass or traverse the ridge from neighbouring peaks. The setting is exposed but accessible for fit walkers carrying day packs.
The hut has 57 beds across dormitory and 5 private rooms. Hot meals are served daily during the season. You can self-cater in the kitchen if you prefer. Drinking water is available. WiFi works here, though signal is inconsistent. The hut operates year-round, though winter opening hours may be limited—check ahead for reduced-season access. Capanna Scaletta functions as a base for ridge walks and approaches to higher peaks in the range.
