About

Tierberglihütte sits at 2,795m on the eastern flank of the Tödi massif, accessed via the Clariden Pass trail from Linthal in the Linth Valley. The standard approach takes 4–5 hours from Linthal; most hikers break the journey at Fridolinshütte (2,113m) and finish the climb the next morning. The hut also connects to the Säntis and Glarus Alps via high passes, making it a hub for multi-day traverse routes. Direct access from the Tödi side is steeper and more exposed.
The SAC-managed hut operates year-round and holds 70 beds in mixed dormitories. Full board is available; the kitchen serves hearty Alpine food and provides packed lunches for departing hikers. Drinking water comes from a reliable spring. The hut has basic heating and electricity. Winter access is possible but requires good mountain skills and avalanche awareness; the approach becomes a ski tour or snowshoe route depending on conditions. Summer brings consistent traffic between June and September.
Book directly by email or phone as soon as your dates are set. July and early August fill 2–3 months ahead. Off-season weekends (May, September–October) book 4–6 weeks out. Weekday slots in shoulder season are often available on shorter notice. Phone ahead if you're arriving late or need to confirm meal arrangements, especially in winter when staffing is reduced.
