Steinseehütte

Steinseehütte sits at 2,069m in the Ötztal region of Tyrol, east of Längenfeld. The standard approach is from Vent, following the trail along the Ötztaler Ache valley for roughly 3 hours. The hut occupies a basin setting near Stein Lake, surrounded by 3,000m peaks—straightforward alpine walking with no technical scrambling required. Winter access is unreliable; most parties visit June through September.
The hut sleeps around 40 people across mixed dormitories and a few doubles. Meals are substantial: a filling breakfast, three-course dinner, and packed lunches available. The kitchen operates full board only in summer months. There's no WiFi—bring a book or accept the silence. Water comes from the lake and spring sources.
