Rifugio Capanna Bill

Capanna Bill sits at 2,157m on the eastern edge of the Brenta Dolomites, accessible from the Val d'Ambez near Molveno. The approach takes 2.5 hours from Pracchi, climbing steadily through larch forest before breaking into alpine meadows. You can also reach it in 3 hours from Rifugio Grostè via the ridge trail, which makes for a good multi-hut traverse. The hut works as a base for day hikes into the Brenta limestone peaks or as a waypoint on longer routes crossing the range.
The hut has 40 beds split across several rooms and operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions. Half-board is standard; the kitchen serves solid mountain food at reasonable prices. Showers are available. The atmosphere is relaxed and working-hiker-focused rather than social-club-oriented. Staff speak English and German as well as Italian.
