Hut na Zadnjem Voglu

Koča na Zadnjem Voglu sits at 1445m on Zadnji Vrh in the Julian Alps, a working base for climbers accessing the peaks around Jesenice. Most hikers approach via the Jesenice valley route, which takes roughly 3–4 hours from Jesenice town. The hut itself is small and basic, suited to parties doing winter mountaineering or rock climbing in the region rather than casual day-hikers.
The hut has 8 beds across simple dormitory spaces. The PZS-affiliated Mladinski odsek (youth section) of PD Jesenic manages it, so expect mountain hut standards: bring a sleeping bag, use shared washing facilities, and plan meals carefully. The hut operates year-round but is most active in winter and spring when climbers use it as a staging point. Summer sees lighter traffic. There is no staffed kitchen; you'll prepare your own food or arrange meals in advance through the managers.
Book by phone well ahead if you're planning a winter climb or a climbing party visit. July and August attract the most visitors. The hut is remote enough that casual walk-ups are rare—check current access conditions and contact details with PZS Jesenic before heading out, as winter access can be difficult.
